The western false smooth snake[1] (Macroprotodon brevis) is a species of snake in the Colubridae family found in Algeria, Morocco, Portugal, Spain, and Western Sahara.Its natural habitats are temperate forests, Mediterranean-type shrubby vegetation, and rocky areas. It is threatened by habitat loss.
