FME (formerly known as the Feature Manipulation Engine) is an integrated collection of Spatial ETL tools for data transformation and data translation produced by Safe Software Inc. of Surrey, British Columbia, Canada.

Components

FME Desktop

FME Desktop is Safe Software's flagship product, created to help users convert data between formats as well as process data geometry and attributes. The suite of tools includes:

  • FME Workbench, the main graphical user interface for designing data transformation workflows
  • FME Data Inspector
  • FME Quick Translator

FME Server

FME Server is an enterprise solution for FME workspaces.

FME Cloud

Released in 2013, FME Cloud is a cloud-based technology that offers a hosted FME Server on a pay-as-you-go basis. As of 2014, FME Cloud is the world's only location-aware iPaaS.
