Summary

Tondo of the so-called « Coupe à l'oiseleur » (“Birdcatcher cup”), Ionian black-figure cup. From Etruria (?), made in East of Greece ca. 550 BC. Two birds, little birds in a nest, a grasshoper and a snake are dispersed in a luxuriant vegetal background, where the central character moves (perhaps Dionysos if the foliage trees are vine stocks).
