It is a member of the palm family, Arecaceae. The northernmost habitat of the Doum Palm is in <a href="//commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?title=Evrona&action=edit&redlink=1" class="new" title="Evrona (page does not exist)">Evrona</a>, about 20 km north of <a href="//commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Eilat" title="Eilat">Eilat</a>, <a href="//commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Israel" title="Israel">Israel</a>.
