Summary

Electron self energy contribution

This is the one-loop contribution to the electron one particle irreducible function, which in turn affects the electron self-energy function Σ. This leads to a shift in the mass of the electron. Essentially, this measures how much mass an electron gains via the electromagnetic field it generates around it.
