The <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neoclassical_architecture" class="extiw" title="en:Neoclassical architecture">Neoclassical style</a> building is located in <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Washington,_D.C." class="extiw" title="en:Washington, D.C.">Washington, D.C.</a>, on top of <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Capitol_Hill,_Washington,_D.C." class="extiw" title="en:Capitol Hill, Washington, D.C.">Capitol Hill</a> at the east end of the <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Mall" class="extiw" title="en:National Mall">National Mall</a>. The Capitol was designated a <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Historic_Landmark" class="extiw" title="en:National Historic Landmark">National Historic Landmark</a> in 1960.
