Notes: The actual highest selling single in New Zealand in 1983 was New Order's "Blue Monday" but the song never charted to the #1 spot therefore, David Bowie's "Let's Dance" has been marked as top single that made it to #1. (It was second best selling single). In 1988, a reboot of New Order’s song was released which did make it to the #1 spot.
