The 1999-00 Utah Jazz season was the team's 26th in the NBA.[1] The Jazz, who were now the oldest team in the NBA still led by John Stockton and Karl Malone, recaptured the Midwest Division with a solid 55-27 record, qualifying for the playoffs for the seventeenth straight season. In the playoffs, the Jazz defeated the Seattle SuperSonics 3-2 in the Western Conference Quarterfinals, but would lose five games to the Portland Trail Blazers in the semifinals for the second consecutive year. Following the season, Jeff Hornacek retired after playing fourteen years in the NBA.
