2023 FIFA Women's World Cup Group D

Group D of the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup is one of eight groups that form the opening round of the tournament with the matches being played from 22 July to 1 August 2023.[1] The group consists of England, Haiti, Denmark and China. The top two teams will advance to the round of 16.[2]

  1. The rankings of October 2022 were used for seeding for the final draw.
  2. 2.0 2.1 As the identity of the inter-confederation play-off Group B winners was not known at the time of the final draw, positions in the FIFA Rankings were not taken into account, and the placeholder in the draw was automatically seeded into pot 4.[3]

Discipline

Fair play points will be used as tiebreakers in the group if the overall and head-to-head records of teams are tied. These are calculated based on yellow and red cards received in all group matches as follows:[2]

  • first yellow card: minus 1 point;
  • indirect red card (second yellow card): minus 3 points;
  • direct red card: minus 4 points;
  • yellow card and direct red card: minus 5 points;

Only one of the above deductions will be applied to a player in a single match.
