Alex Wyse is an American stage and screen actor. He is best known for playing Georg Zirschnitz in the 2015 Broadway revival of Spring Awakening.[1]
Early life
Wyse grew up in Ohio where he graduated from Beachwood High School, and later graduated from Boston University with a degree in theatre.[2]He has two sisters, one older and one younger.
Career
On television, Wyse has appeared in multiple guest starring roles since 2010 including Bored to Death and Masters of Sex. In film, he had a featured role in X/Y.[3]
In theater, he made his Broadway debut as Cinesias in Lysistrata Jones, which ran at the Walter Kerr Theatre from 2011 to 2012.[4] He appeared off-Broadway in Lysistrata Jones, Triassic Parq, and Bare. In 2013-2014, he toured with the national company of Wicked, playing the role of Boq.[2] In 2015, he appeared opposite Evan Rachel Wood and Rumer Willis in For the Record: Dear John Hughes in Los Angeles.[5][6]
He then joined the Deaf West Theatre company's production of Spring Awakening as schoolboy Georg Zirschnitz. He stayed with the show during its transfer to Broadway, and will be performing as Georg until the show's closing on January 24, 2016.[7]
