Anaxander or Anaxandros (Greek: Ἀνάξανδρος) was a King[3] of Sparta[4] (ruled c. 640-615 BC).[5]
He was from the Agiad dynasty, son of King Eurycrates[6] and father of King Eurycratides.
His grandson was King Leon of Sparta.[7][8]
Anaxander is mentioned by famous persons – Tyrtaeus (a poet) and Pausanias (geographer).[9]
