Andy Towle /ˈtl/) is an American blogger and media commentator based in New York City. Towle, who is gay, started his blog Towleroad in 2003 while he was in Los Angeles. The blog focuses on gays, pop culture, photography, politics, media, entertainment, technology, and travel. Towle works full-time creating Towleroad.

Career

Towle was one of the organizers of a large New York City demonstration against California Proposition 8.[1]

Towle was previously the editor in chief of Genre magazine,[citation needed]a North American gay men's lifestyle publication, and editor at large for The Out Traveler,[citation needed] a North American gay travel quarterly.

Towle's poetry has appeared in The Paris Review in 2001,[citation needed] and in Poetry Magazine on many occasions from 1988 through 1997[citation needed]. Occasionally Towle hands over control of the blog to guest editors including the novelist Christopher Rice,[citation needed] photographer Lewis Payton,[citation needed] Josh and Josh of the blog Josh and Josh are Rich and Famous,[citation needed] and Kenneth Walsh of Kenneth in the (212).[citation needed]
