Balge is a municipality in the district of Nienburg, in Lower Saxony, Germany, located on the Weser river. The community belongs to the Marklohe ("Collective Community") which consists of seven municipalities including Balge.
District and Community Organization
The municipalities of Balge, Blenhorst, Bötenberg, Buchholz, Buchhorst, Dolldorf, Holzbalge, Mehlbergen, Möhlenhalenbeck and Sebbenhausen belong to the Marklohe ("Collective Community").
Politics
The municipality council of Balge consists of eleven council men and council women. As of the 2011 election the makeup of the council consisted of six seats for the SPD and five seats consisting of community citizens.
