Brian Shmyr (born December 29, 1955) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey player who played four seasons in the International Hockey League and the Eastern Hockey League.
Career
Shmyr is a former draft pick of the Vancouver Canucks and the Minnesota Fighting Saints, being selected by both teams in 1975. Shmyr was selected 83rd overall by the Fighting Saints in the 1975 WHA Amateur Draft and was selected by the Canucks 118th overall in the 1975 NHL Amateur Draft.
Shmyr attended training camp with the Detroit Red Wings in 1978, but was sent down to their Eastern Hockey League affiliate in Kalamazoo.[1]
