Buster' Mal Heart is an upcoming drama film by writer-director Sarah Adina Smith, starring Rami Malek, DJ Qualls, and Kate Lyn Shiel. It is Mr. Robot star Rami Malek's first leading film role.
Plot
The film follows a mountain man on the run from authorities who survives the winter by breaking into empty vacation homes. He is haunted by a recurring dream of being lost at sea only to discover that the dream is real: He is one man in two bodies.[2]
Production
Buster's Mal Heart was filmed near Glacier National Park in Kalispell, MT. Originally, Smith planned to film in her home-state of Colorado but, in the end, decided to shoot in Montana for the available tax credits as well as the unique and dramatic landscape. The movie was filmed in only 18 days.[3] Some of the music in the film is being performed by the Montgomery Music Project.[4]
