In the branch of abstract algebra known as group theory, a C-closed subgroup is a subgroup that is the centralizer of some subgroup, or equivalently, of its own centralizer. For any group G, Z(G) and G itself are always C-closed, being the centralizers of G and the trivial subgroup respectively.
