CapTech Consulting, Inc. is an American technology consulting firm, specializing in systems integration, management consulting, data management/business intelligence and customer experience. CapTech was formed as the result of a friendship between the company's founders, Sandy Williamson and Slaughter Fitz-Hugh, that began while both were employed at Andersen Consulting in Washington, D.C. Eventually, each would leave the company to pursue other opportunities, but they stayed in touch. In March 1997, the two found themselves back in their shared hometown—Richmond, Virginia—and this close proximity led to the creation of CapTech Ventures, Inc.

In both 2002 and 2003, CapTech earned a spot on the Inc. Magazine’s list of the nation's 500 fastest-growing private companies. For the 5th year in a row, CapTech is a member of the Inc. 5000 list. CapTech is proud to announce their recent ranking at #3175 on the list for 2012. CapTech is part of the IT Services industry and ranked #446 of these companies. In 2007, the Inc. 500 list expanded to the Inc. 500|5000, giving readers a deeper, richer understanding of the entrepreneurial landscape and capturing a broader spectrum of success.[2] In 2004, CapTech received the Impact Award of the Greater Richmond Chamber of Commerce for its achievements in growth, economic impact and support of the community. Over the years, CapTech has been recognized by Ernst and Young, Association for Corporate Growth (ACG), Greater Richmond Partnership, United Way, RichTech and numerous other organizations for its steady growth and positive impact on the communities it serves.

In August, 2012 CapTech was ranked #5 in Consulting Magazine’s “Best Firms to Work For” for 2012. CapTech received this award for excelling in the Work/Life Balance category, which reflects how well consultants perceive their firm as enabling them to balance their life outside of their day job. The list is based on an online survey that is completed by over 350 firms, and 13,000 consultants. Other firms that made the 2012 list include, Bain & Company, North Highland Group, and Huron Consulting Group.[3]

CapTech has been recognized by Vault magazine for having one of the best consulting internships in the country. CapTech's internship program targets a small cohort of rising college seniors to participate in mock consulting projects for the company. Over 12 weeks, interns run through an entire software development life cycle to build a product for CapTech to use with clients or internally.

CapTech's corporate offices are located in Richmond, Virginia, where the company was founded.

CapTech Honored by Richmond's Venture Forum.[4]

A solution designed and implemented by CapTech was listed by the Nielsen Norman Group as one of the 10 best-designed intranet sites worldwide for 2008.[5]
