Crime & Punishment Brewing Co. is a brewpub in the Brewerytown neighborhood of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA. The brewery has a 7-barrel capacity and the bar seats around 40 people.[1]
Travel + Leisure called the brewery one of "the city’s newest beer stars" in their round up of America's Best Beer Cities.[2] Uwishunu identified Crime & Punishment as "first modern brewery in Brewerytown."[3]
History
Before Prohibition was enacted in 1920, over 20 breweries operated in Brewerytown. After the 1933 Repeal, none of them reopened.[4]
The rise of craft beer brought back some brewing to the area - Red Bell Brewing operated on the former Poth Brewing site from 1996 to 2002.[5] For 13 years before the launch of Crime & Punishment, there was no commercial brewing in Brewerytown.[6]
In 2013 Mike Wambolt began developing the Girard Avenue location, which had previously been a bike shop.[7][8] There followed a period of fundraising events, including a campaign on crowdfunding website Indiegogo.[9][10]
The brewpub opened on July 11, 2015.[11]

Crime and Punishment produce the following beers:[12]
- 100 IBUs To Life is a india pale ale
- Eye For An Eye is an imperial india pale ale
- Fyodor Dankstoyevsky is a double india pale ale
- Ghost Station is a berlinerweisse with raspberries
- The Grod Inquisitor is a grodziskie (Polish style made with oak-smoked wheat)
- House Arrest is a farmhouse ale
- Indecent Exposure is a single hop pale ale made with Chinook hops
- Rolling Stop is a blonde ale
