Cyfarthfa is a community of the county borough of Merthyr Tydfil, in Wales. At the 2001 census, it had a population of 6141,[1] increasing to 6,869 at the 2011 Census.[2] Cyfarthfa mainly consists of the settlements of Gellideg and Heolgerrig.
Cyfarthfa has strong historical ties to the industrial past of Merthyr Tydfil, and was the site of Cyfarthfa Ironworks.
