The East Bay Dragons MC started in the 1950s as a car club until under the leadership of Tobie Gene Levingston, a then associate of Sonny Barger.[2] It switched in 1959 [3] to become an outlaw motorcycle club riding choppers unlike other African-American motorcycle clubs of the day which rode full-dressers.[4]
