Plot
Suman, a young and beautiful girl, who believes in being independent and has a huge self-respect, running her own small venture (Priya Central Tiffin) in Delhi.
After her parents' early demise, her grandfather, uncle and aunt raised her. This indebtedness turns Suman into a contrastingly submissive woman each time she is found within the boundaries of her home. But in the world outside home, she is still the "has-everything-in-control" Sumo that she has been since childhood. She makes sure that she has everything in control and is very serious. She makes sure that nobody messes up with her. Because of that attitude and behavior, Suman's childhood best friend, Shravan, names her Sumo. There are only two unfinished chapters in her life; one is to repay the loan to her aunt which was taken by her mother to earn her respect and the other is to mend her relationship with a long-lost childhood friend – Shravan.
But as the series reveals, Suman eventually falls in love with Shravan who has always loved Suman, but as Suman insulted Shravan in his childhood days in the school, Shravan got hurt and went to London for 10 years. When Shravan comes back, she is very happy.
But Shravan has other plans. He calls Suman at the School Reunion party and insults her in front of all the people. This creates a rift between the two. Since Shravan has got what he wanted he decides to go back to London.
Meanwhile, some Mr. Khosla gets the original papers of Suman's Nanu's house (Tiwari Killa) and says that he owns the house now. Suman's Nanaji asks her to go to Malhotra's for help. She goes to Shravan but he is unwilling to help. So she decides to go to some other lawyer Verma. Verma calls Shravan and tells him that Suman visited him and asked him to become her lawyer and how he wants to take advantage of her. This angers Shravan and he decides to fight the case himself.
Later, Khosla visits Shravan's office and blackmails him and asks him to leave the case. Shravan in turn asks Khosla to watch out as he's sure he's going to win the case. Shravan calls up Suman and says that he was coming to her house. After having further talk with Raghuvar Tiwari (Nanaji), Shravan learns that Nanaji had once given the papers of Tiwari Killa (Suman's mother's maternal house) to Priya (Suman's late mother) a few days before the accident of her and her husband and afterwards had brought the papers back. Shravan concludes that there might be a possibility that the house's papers might have mistakenly been left at Suman's father's house and Khosla might have stolen them from there. Shravan asks Suman to take him to their house which was auctioned by the money lenders soon after Suman's parents' demise.
When Suman and Shravan reach the house, Suman becomes nostalgic and shares all her childhood memories with Shravan. Shravan becomes a bit emotional and realizes that Suman wasn't a selfish girl as he had thought her to be; she used to have a strong personality because she wanted to be away from desolation after she lost her parents. Shravan feels bad for having wronged Suman and hugs her to comfort her when her parents' memories make her cry.
A few minutes later, the owner of the house arrives at the house. To their astonishment, Shravan and Suman find out that the owner was none other than Khosla himself. They became sure that Khosla had stolen the papers of Tiwari Qilla from that house. However, Suman decides to hide themselves from Khosla until he was gone. But soon, Khosla left and locked the door from outside, trapping Suman and Shravan inside. They tried to find a way out but couldn't. At night, they tried to escape by climbing over the wall near a pond in the garden but as they tried to escape, they were caught by Khosla who had brought the police with him on being informed by the house's security guard that he suspected thieves to have entered the house. Khosla, acting as if he was really generous to ask the police to leave thus saving Shravan and Suman from being punished of intruding, made some nasty comments about Shravan and Suman that angered them. Shravan tells Khosla that they have come to know how he has stolen the papers and now they'll win the case. Khosla says in his defence that only time will tell whose story the court is going to believe and the story is continuing.
The next day in the court, Shravan asks the judge to make Khosla submit the documents signed by Priya Tiwari for checking. The judge agrees and postpones the case to the second hearing.
