English script (calligraphy)

For the script used for writing the English language, see Latin script.

English script is a cursive style, especially for capital letters, first used in the 18th century in England, and later across the world. This very cursive script appeared with the spread of metallic quill.

In the late 19th and early 20th centuries, calligraphy experienced a newfound resurgence due to its use in advertising, magazine design and commercial presentation.
