Félix de Juvenel de Carlencas

Félix de Juvenel, Seigneur de Carlencas (September 1679 – 12 April 1760) was a French historian.

Biography

He was born in Pézenas, Hérault. Carlencas was married to Anne de Martelly on October 9, 1704. The couple had two children. Juvenel de Carlencas was a distinguished member of the Academy of Marseille. He is better known for his work Essays on the History of the Belles Lettres, and of the Arts and Sciences (1740), that appeared in English version the same year of publication and was translated into German by Kappius and into Spanish by Morzo.

He died in his birthplace in 1760.
