Haematobia exigua or buffalo fly is a pest fly from the family Muscidae.
In Australia it is present in Western Australia, Northern Territory, Queensland and New South Wales.
The entomologist Ian Murray Mackerras did substantial work in trying to eradicate the problem by introducing parasites.
