Chronology
Predecessor Hyundai Maxcruz/Santa Fe XL

The Hyundai Palisade (Korean: 현대 팰리세이드) is a mid-size crossover SUV[5][1][2][3] manufactured by Hyundai Motor Company since late 2018. It debuted at the 2018 Los Angeles Auto Show on November 28, 2018.[6] It replaces the Maxcruz (also known as Santa Fe XL outside of South Korea) as the flagship SUV under the Hyundai brand. The Palisade also becomes the largest vehicle in Hyundai's fleet measuring in at 196.1 inches long with a wheelbase of 114.2 inches.[7]

Like its predecessor, the Palisade features three rows of seating, with seating for up to eight passengers when equipped with a second-row bench seat. The Palisade is Hyundai's largest vehicle to date, and has 21 cu ft (595 L) of cargo space behind the third row and 87 cu ft (2,464 L) with both rows folded down.[8]

According to Hyundai, the name Palisade "references a series of coastal cliffs", the neighborhood of Pacific Palisades in Los Angeles, California is used as a reference for the naming of the car.[9]

Based on the Grandmaster concept, Hyundai made many of the latest safety features standard equipment on the Palisade, including Safe Exit Assist (prevents children and pets from accidentally being locked inside of the vehicle by using audio and visual alerts), class-exclusive ultrasonic rear occupant alert (senses whether a child or pet is seated in either one of the rear seats, and can also send an alert using the Bluelink in-vehicle telematics system to send an alert to the driver's smartphone to alert the driver to check the rear seats), rear cross-traffic alert with collision-avoidance assist, forward collision-avoidance assist, adaptive cruise control, and blind spot collision-avoidance assist.

Powering all Palisade models in the United States and Canada is a 3.8-liter Atkinson cycle V6 engine with Idle Stop & Go (ISG). The Palisade is available in base SE, mid level SEL, upscale SEL Plus, luxury Limited, and top-of-the-line Ultimate trim levels.

Additional features available on select Palisade trim levels include roof side rails, proximity key with push-button start, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, heated front seats, a third-row USB charging port, a power sunroof, a "Hands-Free" Smart Liftgate with proximity sensor and auto open, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, Sirius XM Satellite Radio and HD Radio, the Bluelink in-vehicle telematics system, twenty-inch (20") aluminum-alloy wheels, leather-trimmed seating surfaces, manual rear window sunshades, multiple device connection, active noise cancellation, a dual moonroof with shade, auto-dimming and auto-folding side and auto-dimming rearview mirrors, a full-display rearview mirror, Nappa leather-trimmed seating surfaces, and a full-color heads-up display.
