"I've Been Waiting for You" is a song written by Neil Young for his debut solo album in 1968. The band Wild Butter released a cover version in 1970: United Artists, UAS 6766. David Bowie recorded a version of the song, which features Dave Grohl on guitar, for his Heathen album in 2002 prior to releasing the song as a single in Canada. The song has also been covered by the Pixies and released on the b-side of their single "Velouria". It was also covered by Dinosaur Jr. for the tribute album The Bridge: A Tribute to Neil Young, but never released.

- Neil Young performed a solo acoustic version of the song in November 1968 at Canterbury House in Ann Arbor, Michigan, just a few days before the release of the album version. This performance is included on the live album Sugar Mountain - Live At Canterbury House 1968, released in 2008.
- The song was performed during the Tin Machine tour, sung by Reeves Gabrels. One version appeared on the Oy Vey, Baby video.
- It was played live again on the Heathen Tour and A Reality Tour concerts.
