"I Mean It" is a song by American rapper G-Eazy. It was released on May 13, 2014, as the fifth single from his third studio album These Things Happen (2014). The song was produced by Eazy himself and Remo.[1] It is G-Eazy's second most successful single; despite peaking at number 98 on the US Billboard Hot 100 more than six months after its original release, it was still certified Platinum January 9, 2016. A remix was released featuring an additional verse by Rick Ross.

Music video
The video premiered on Vevo and followed by YouTube on May 28th, 2014. It was produced by Abby Vo directed by Bobby Bruderle, who is a companion of G-Eazy having done photography work for him since 2011 and directing other videos of his such as "Almost Famous" and "Been On".[2] In the video G-Eazy expresses himself to the world of news in an "My Name Is" and/or Anchorman-esque fashion.[3][4] In the video G-Eazy plays a news anchor interviewing himself and presenting to many interesting characters going through their daily lives, many of which are rappers or crew members associated with G-Eazy.
Live performance
Prior to the release of this song, G-Eazy played it live several times on his These Things Happen Tour.
On July 24, 2014, G-Eazy made his U.S. television debut best artist on Late Night with Seth Meyers performing "I Mean It" and "Far Alone".[5]
