Idle Race is the self-titled second album by The Idle Race, the follow-up to the band's critically acclaimed debut, "The Birthday Party".
Released in November 1969, this record was the first to be produced by Jeff Lynne. While the album was more straightforward and poppy than its predecessor, like the first Idle Race offering, it failed to crack the charts. Flustered, Lynne decided to accept Roy Wood's invitation to join fellow Brum band The Move.
