Inder Malhotra
Inder Malhotra (1930) is an Indian journalist, editor and author.[1] He is one of few remaining political observers in India who were born and active since before India gained freedom from colonial rule in 1947.

Career
Malhotra was the resident editor of The Statesman in New Delhi from 1965-1971. He held the same position at The Times of India from 1978-1986. Simultaneously he was the India correspondent for The Guardian from 1965-1978.[2] Since 1986 he has been a syndicated columnist and has written for numerous dailies and periodicals in India and abroad. In 1991 Malhotra authored a political and personal biography of Indira Gandhi.[3]
Awards
Inder Malhota received the Ramnath Goenka Lifetime Achievement Award in 2013.[4]
Personal life
Malhotra was born in 1930. He was married to Rekha Malhotra, a former classical dancer with the Ram Gopal dance troupe in the 1950s, and she died at age 81 in 2007. The couple had one son.[5]
