Javed Yusuf

Javed Yusuf is a Sri Lankan educator and diplomat. He was the Sri Lankan Ambassador to Saudi Arabia.

He was educated at Royal College, Colombo, where he played rugby union and went on to play for CR & FC.[1]

The former Principal of Zahira College, Colombo, was appointed as Sri Lanka's Ambassador to Saudi Arabia in the mid 1990s and served as a Senior Advisor to the former Sri Lankan Foreign Minister, Lakshman Kadirgamar.

Yusuf was the Founder Secretary General of the Peace Secretariat for Muslims and was a member of Sri Lanka's first National Human Rights Commission. A member of the Presidential Commission of Inquiry to investigate serious violations of human rights in Sri Lanka, he is on the Broad of Trustees of the Neelan Tiruchelvam Trust.
