Joe Pasternack (born April 15, 1977) is an American college basketball coach and current associate head coach for the Arizona Wildcats men's basketball program.

Coaching career

Arizona hired Pasternack on May 19, 2011 after Archie Miller, brother of Arizona Head Coach Sean Miller, left to become head coach at Dayton.[1] Prior to the 2013–14 season Pasternack was promoted to the position of associate head coach.[2]

Before coming to Arizona Pasternack served for four years as the head coach of the New Orleans Privateers, a position he took in July 2007 after the resignation of Buzz Williams.[3] He earned a record of 54–60 (.474) while there.

Pasternack's first professional coaching position was at California, where he served as an assistant coach from 2000 until 2007 under head coach Ben Braun.[4]

A 1999 graduate of Indiana University, Pasternack spent four years as a student manager for the Hoosiers men's basketball team under head coach Bob Knight. He played four years of high school varsity basketball at Metairie Park Country Day School in Metairie, Louisiana.[4]
