Julius Ucha (born 19 October 1958) was elected Senator for the Ebonyi Central constituency of Ebonyi State, Nigeria, taking office on 29 May 2003, and was reelected in 2007. He is a member of the People's Democratic Party (PDP).[1]

Ucha earned an LL.B degree from Anambra State University of Science & Technology. He was a member of the old Enugu State Board of Mercy. He was elected a member of the Ebonyi State House of Assembly, where he was appointed Speaker. After returning to the Senate in 2007 Ucha was appointed to committees on Works, Senate Services, Inter-Parliamentary Affairs, Independent National Electoral Commission and Commerce.[1] In a mid-term evaluation of Senators in May 2009, ThisDay said he had not sponsored any bills but had sponsored or co-sponsored several motions.[2]

Ucha's constituency was troubled by disputes between the Ezza and Ezillo communities since May 2008. In March 2010 the Inspector-General of Police, Ogbonna Onovo, ordered the arrest of Ucha and 40 other stakeholders from Ebonyi state, alleging that they had been stirring up trouble between the communities.[3] In March 2010 a group called "Concerned Democrats in Ebonyi State" petitioned for the immediate recall of Ucha from the Senate alleging he had failed to serve his constituency either as a member of the State Assembly or as a Senator.[4] The group also accused Ucha of fanning the embers of the crisis with the "massive war chest he has stockpiled as chairman of the senate’s elitist" Committee for Works.[5]
