Kebab shop
A kebab shop is a quick service food establishment specialising in various fast food and street food dishes, primarily Döner kebab and related sandwiches.[1][2] Kebab shops are commonplace throughout most of the European continent with recent growth in countries like the United States, Canada, and Australia.[citation needed] The Kebab shops are very popular in North Africa, Middle East, Central Asia and South Asia.
Kebab shops were born in Europe as a natural evolution of influences from Turkey into Germany in the early 1970s, where döner kebabs, iskender kebab, shish kebabs and the like were served with fries and beer, becoming a fast food trend that today, continues to grow in popularity.[citation needed]
Globalisation has migrated the kebab shop beyond the shores of Europe, to the new world and even back to the old world. European kebab shops have opened in the United Arab Emirates and the Americas.[citation needed]
