Khaling is a town in eastern Bhutan. It is located in Trashigang District.

The word "Khaling" is one of the most beautiful, meaningful and realistic of names ever given to a place. Why??? "Kha" in Sharchop (language of Eastern Bhutan)means bird, and "ling" in Dzongkha (NAtional language) means valley. This is the most enchanting, haunting and lush green fertile valley of the Himalayan Kingdom - Bhutan. Quite naturally, it is blessed with innumerable variety of birds and their songs. A recent survey (casual, of course,) revealed that there are more than 35 varieties of colourful birds with mesmerising tunes. Their enchanting melodious notes reverberate this heavenly valley.
