Halle Olympique (French: Olympic Hall) is an indoor arena located in Albertville, France. For the 1992 Winter Olympics, it hosted the figure skating and the short track speed skating events. It was first use for the 1991 Trophée Lalique, which was staged as a test event for the Olympics.
The site was constructed on ten internal pillars. Its ice was laid down on 14 cm (5.5 in) foundation, then 7 cm (2.8 in) of insulation, 7 cm (2.8 in) of screed, and finally, 4 cm (1.6 in) of ice. The ice temperature was kept between −4 to −7 °C (25 to 19 °F) depending upon the sporting discipline.
The Halle Olympique is currently undergoing a major overhaul and should reopen in spring 2015.
