Latakia Sports City (Arabic: المدينة الرياضية باللاذقية‎‎), also known as al-Assad Sports City, is a sports complex in Latakia, Syria. It was completed in 1987 to host the 1987 Mediterranean Games.

The complex covers an area of 156 hectares, lying along the Mediterranean coastline with a length of 2.5 km. It is owned by the Government of Syria and operated by the Ministry of Territorial Administration.

Facilities

The complex includes:

• Football:
  • Latakia Sports City Stadium: the main football and athletics venue with a capacity of 45,000 spectators
  • Latakia Sports City Training Stadium: football stadium with a capacity of 500 spectators
  • Latakia Sports City Artificial Stadium: football stadium with an artificial turf and a capacity of 500 spectators
• 3 football training grounds (2 artificial and 1 natural)

• Indoor sports:
  • 3 indoor sports halls (mainly for basketball, handball and volleyball), with a capacity of 5,000; 1,500 and 700 seats respectively
  • 2 multi-functional mini halls for several types of Olympic sports

• Water sports:
  • Olympic size (50×21 m) outdoor swimming pool and diving pool (21×20 m) that has a capacity 3,660 seats
  • Indoor swimming pool (25×12.5 m) and a pool for amateur swimmers

• Horse racing:
  • Modern equestrian facilities with a capacity of 6,000 spectators
  • Hippodrome (1,266 meters)

• Tennis courts:
  • The main court with a capacity of 1,000
  • 9 training courts (4 hard, 4 grass and 1 clay)

• Hotel.

• Yacht club.

• Contemporary art museum.
