The LouFest Music Festival is an annual two-day event, held on Central Field in Forest Park, located in St. Louis, Missouri. The event features local, regional and national acts, with an aesthetic range from funk and indie-rock to alt-country and soul. The event features four stages with alternating performances throughout the weekend. The festival grounds include a children’s stage and village, an environmentally friendly vendor area and a food court featuring restaurants from St. Louis neighborhoods.[1]

History
The Loufest Music Festival was formally founded in November 2009 with the first event taking place August 28 and 29, 2010. The event was the creation of Brian Cohen, a documentary filmmaker originally from Abilene, Texas.[2] 2010 headliners included Broken Social Scene, She & Him, Built to Spill, The Airborne Toxic Event, Titus Andronicus, Fruit Bats, and Jeff Tweedy.[3]
2016 LouFest Music Festival
The 2016 LouFest music festival will take place on September 10 and 11, a Saturday and Sunday.[4]
Artists performing are: LCD Soundsystem, Chris Stapleton, Lauryn Hill, Band of Horses, Big Gigantic, The Kills, Buddy Guy, Shakey Graves, St. Lucia, Vince Staples, Greensky Bluegrass, Preservation Hall Jazz Band, Charles Bradley and his Extraordinaries, Anderson.Paak & The Free Nationals, Frightened Rabbit, The Heavy, Wild Belle, Foxing, Twin Peaks, Judah and the Lion, Rayland Baxter, Caveman, Chicano Batman, Diarrhea Planet, Mothers, The Quaker City Night Hawks, Twin Limb, NAWAS, Bonnie Bishop, JMR, Illphonics, Aaron Kamm & The One Drops, Bruiser Queen, Karate Bikini, The Sleepy Rubies, John Hardy.
2015 LouFest Music Festival
The 2015 LouFest music festival was held on September 12 and 13, a Saturday and Sunday.[5]
The lineup was officially released on May 15th.

Forest Park
Forest Park was dedicated on June 24, 1876. The park grounds are most famous for hosting the 1904 World’s Fair. Forest Park is a public park located in western part of the city of St. Louis, Missouri. It has hosted several significant events, including the Louisiana Purchase Exposition of 1904 and the 1904 Summer Olympics. Bounded by Skinker Boulevard, Lindell Boulevard, Kingshighway Boulevard, and Interstate 64, the park is known as the "Heart of St. Louis" and features a variety of attractions, including the St. Louis Art Museum, the St. Louis Zoo, the Missouri History Museum, The St. Louis Science Center, the Jewel Box, and The Muny outdoor theater. The park caters to more than 12 million visitors annually and plays host to a number of culturally significant events including the Great Forest Park Balloon Race, The St. Louis Earth Day Festival, the St. Louis African Arts Festival, The annual St. Louis Wine Festival, Beer Heritage Festival, and St. Louis Micro-Fest (a microbrewery showcase festival).
Greening
The 2010 LouFest Music Festival off-set more than 500 pounds of direct carbon dioxide emissions. The festival offers free water refills and discourages the use of plastic bottles. Food and beverage vendors at LouFest are required to only use recyclable or compostable products.
