Lucy J Whyte (born 2 October 1984) is a Scottish broadcast journalist, currently working for STV News as the acting main anchor for the East Central Scotland edition of STV News at Six, covering the maternity leave of her colleague, Laura Miller.
Career
Whyte gained an Honours Degree in English Literature from the University of St Andrews, graduating in 2006 with a grade of 2/1. She then received a diploma in Broadcast Journalism from the University of the West of Scotland in 2008.
Shortly after finishing her education, Lucy joined Bauer Radio station Radio Clyde - where she spent four years working as a journalist for the station.
In March 2012, Lucy joined STV - working as a production and broadcast journalist for STV News, based in Glasgow. In this role, Lucy has reported on a wide variety of stories in Scotland, and has presented news bulletins on the main STV channel, as well as City channels STV Glasgow and STV Edinburgh. Lucy occasionally fills in as anchor on the West edition of the STV News at Six.[2]
From May 2016, Lucy is the acting main anchor of the East edition of the STV News at Six based in Edinburgh, covering maternity leave.
