Luxor Evolved is a game by MumboJumbo, created in 2012.

Gameplay

Like its predecessors, Luxor Evolved is a marble shooting game, but it has more features, such as:

  • Retro - but great graphical - screen
  • Metal Music
  • Nine secret levels that you play by earning a number of treasures (Some of them pay homage to classic arcade games, such as Pac-Man, Marble Madness, Tempest, Berzerk, Millipede, Dig Dug, Space Invaders, and Donkey Kong).
  • Three super powers
  • New powerups, such as Missiles, Meteor Storm, Freeze Ball, Toxic Ball and Chain Lightning
  • Mecha fight bosses, based on 8 Egyptian gods
  • Screen Killer at the end of the game (that makes Luxor Evolved like an arcade game)
  • Playable level in the credits

Boss Battle

At the end of each 5 levels of a stage, you will fight a robot, named after an Egyptian god. It has a sphere wave on the center of itself, and it has spinners that launches waves to your pyramid, but you can destroy them. After destroying the central wave, shoot to the center of the robot again to detonate the robot.

There are 8 bosses:

  • Mecha-Sekhmet
  • Mecha-Geb
  • Mecha-Horus
  • Mecha-Osiris
  • Mecha-Sobek
  • Mecha-Ra
  • Mecha-Isis
  • Mecha-Set

Kill Screen?

After destroying the final boss (Mecha-Set), your ship travels in space, just like all level startings, but suddenly the screen twists and switches off. Then, just a moving bug remains. Then an error message apperars:

LUXOR EVOLVED

UNEXPECTED ERROR OCCURRED

Then, it will 'reboot' the game and you play a level, and the screen switches back on, that each wave has a piece of credits.
