Marcus Fysh

Lua error in Module:Infobox at line 235: malformed pattern (missing ']'). Marcus Fysh (born 1970) is a British Conservative Party politician. He has been the Member of Parliament (MP) for Yeovil and surrounding villages in Somerset since the 2015 general election.[1]

Career

Fysh is from a medical family with a background in business and investment, and was educated at Winchester College and Corpus Christi College, Oxford.[2] Prior to his election he ran companies in the agriculture and healthcare sectors, after working for Mercury Asset Management specialising on businesses in the Asia Pacific region.[3][4][5]

He is a District Councillor on South Somerset District Council representing Yeovil South,[6] and in 2013 was elected to Somerset County Council.[7]

Personal life

He lives at Naish Priory, parts of which date from the 14th century, in the village of East Coker.[8] In 2011 he opposed plans by the local council to build additional houses in the area.[9][10][11]
