Marine Corps Systems Command (MARCORSYSCOM) is a United States Marine Corps unit tasked with acquiring military equipment for the U.S. Marine Corps. It is located at MCB Quantico.

Mission

The mission of Marine Corps Systems Command is to serve as the Department of the Navy's systems command for Marine Corps ground weapons and information technology system programs in order to equip and sustain Marine forces with current and future expeditionary and crisis response capabilities.

Organization and History

History

United States Marine Corps Systems Command traces its beginning to the Marine Corps Research, Development and Acquisition Command (MCRDAC), which was established Nov. 18, 1987, as required by the Goldwater Nichols Act. General Alfred Gray, then Commandant of the Marine Corps, established the MCRDAC to streamline the acquisition process, incorporate the operating forces to identify deficiencies and to establish clear lines of authority, responsibility and accountability with respect to acquisitions.
