Massarosa is a town and comune in the province of Lucca, Tuscany, Italy.

The population of Stiava was 3,191 as of 31 December 2004, including 1,564 males and 1,627 females. In the centre of the village is a local supermarket, a bakery and a few other shops. There is also a small church dedicated to the Virgin Assumed Into Heaven, alongside a campanile. The village is around 10 metres (33 ft) above sea level. The name is derived from Tuguria Sclava, the name of the ancient village from the time of Charlemagne that was built on the same hill as a part of the present Stiava. The village hosts two annual events :
- Polenta festival in July, a local variation with mushrooms
- Festa del Pesce (Fish Festival) in August
