Matahora Airport is an airport located in Wangi-wangi Island, Wakatobi, South East Sulawesi, Indonesia.
The airport construction began on 2007 with an investment of 100 billions Rupiah from South East Sulawesi province government. The airport was inaugurated on May 22, 2009 by then-Indonesian minister of transportation Jusman Safi'i Jamal.[2]
WingsAir (a subsidiary of LionAir) is currently the only airline with a once daily flight to Matahora Airport uses ATR 72-500.
Expansion
On may 8, 2016 a 1,524 meter square terminal opened to facilitate up to 150 passengers in a certain time. The runway is 2000 meter x 30 meter with Pavement Concrete Number (PCN) 24 F/B/X/T which can serves ATR 72-500/600. Taxi way is 107 meter x 18 meter, and Appron is 103 meter x 73 meter.[3]
