Nate Fish is a retired baseball player who is currently the Israel Association of Baseball’s National Director.[1] Previously he served as the head coach for the Israel national baseball team in international tournaments.[2]

Early career

Fish began his playing at Shaker Heights High School where he was a three-time all-region selection. He then played for the University of Cincinnati and was a teammate of Kevin Youkilis.[3] Fish also competed on team USA for the Maccabiah Games.

International career

In 2007 Fish won the Gold Glove Award as the best defensive infielder in the league, as part of the Tel Aviv Lightning of the short lived Israel baseball league. The following year, he played for and coached the Haar Disciples in the Bundesliga, Germany’s top pro league[4] and has also played in Argentina, Puerto Rico, and the Dominican Republic.

Nate Fish played for the Israel national baseball team during the 2013 World Baseball Classic – Qualification Tournament.

Coaching career

On May 11, 2012, Fish was named the head coach of the junior Maccabi USA team. He served as an assistant coach for the Israel national team during the 2011 European Championship.[5] In 2013, he emigrated to Israel, with the purpose of promoting baseball there.[6]

On August 1, 2015 Fish became the Israel Association of Baseball’s National Director.

On May 23, 2016 Peter Kurz, Israel Association of Baseball's president mentioned that Nate Fish will join the coaching staff for Israel national baseball team for the 2017 World Baseball Classic – Qualification Tournament.[7]
