Netwrix is a private IT security software company, which offers IT auditing solutions for systems and applications across IT infrastructure.[1][2] Netwrix is based in Irvine, California[3] and operates in the United States, EMEA and Asia Pacific region.[1][4]

Netwrix focuses on IT auditing,[2] and specializes in change, configuration and access auditing software with its Netwrix Auditor solution.[2] Netwrix is a partner of Microsoft,[5] VMware,[6] EMC,[7] NetApp[7] and HP ArcSight.[8]

History

Netwrix released its first product, change auditing software for Active Directory, in 2007.[9] This software was later folded into the company’s Change Reporter Suite, which was later renamed Netwrix Auditor.[9][10]

In 2011, Netwrix released its SCOM Management Pack for Change Reporter Suite, which integrates Netwrix’s auditing solutions with Microsoft System Center.[11]

The company released a new version of Active Directory Change Reporter in November 2012.[12][13]

In June 2013, the company renamed its flagship product, Netwrix Change Reporter, Netwrix Auditor.[14]

Products

The company’s flagship product is Netwrix Auditor, formerly known as Change Reporter Suite.[14] Netwrix Auditor delivers a single console for analysis, alerting and reporting on IT infrastructure changes.[15] The product helps organizations track changes and access events across the IT environment, e.g. modifications in security configurations, systems, permissions and data, and provides information as a set of easy-to-read reports.[16] Netwrix Auditor solves security, compliance and operational problems, e.g. mitigating risk of security breaches, reducing compliance costs and increasing the efficiency of IT operations.[2]

In 2014 Netwrix introduced the special edition of Netwrix Auditor for five compliance standards (PCI DSS, HIPAA, FISMA, SOX, GLBA).[17] This edition involved enhanced scalability and reporting capabilities, as well as AuditArchive storage that can hold audit data for upward of 10 years.[17]

In April 2016, Netwrix introduced Netwrix Auditor 8.0 to provide visibility into data across all levels of the IT environment, including hybrid cloud and storage appliances.
