Onolatry is worship of the donkey: old Oriental and African worship attributed also to the Jewish people who travelled in the desert.[1][need quotation to verify]
In Imperial Rome, the charge of onolatry was used by the pagans to taunt the Jews and first Christians.[2][need quotation to verify] A famous example of this is the Alexamenos graffito.[3]
