Parapuã is a municipality in the state of São Paulo in Brazil. The population is 11,098 (2015 est.) in an area of 366 km².[1] The elevation is 486 m. At the 70's the county was called "Capital of the Coffee" because there was there 12,500,000 coffee trees. But in 1975 a frost destroyed mostly part of them. In spite of this, the coffee kept being important for the local economy, but also the sugar cane and corn as well. It was founded by Luiz de Souza Leão in 1934.
