Perakian Malay people refers to a group of Malay people originating from the Malaysian state of Perak. As of 2010, it is estimated that the population of the Perakian Malays in Perak are about 55.74% of the state's population.

Language

Besides the standard Malay language, most Perakian Malays are able to converse in another form of the Malay language known as Perak Malay. Linguistically, there are about five to six Perak Malay dialect but the three main dialects are Perak Tengah dialect, Kuala Kangsar dialect and Perak Selatan dialect. Other Malay dialects used in Perak includes the Perak Ulu Malay dialect (also known as Basa Ulu or Basa Grik) but is not considered as part of the Perak Malay as it does not share many similarities with the Perak Malay, instead it is more similar to the Kelantan Malay, Terengganu Malay, Pahang Malay and Yawi language.
