Lua error in package.lua at line 80: module 'strict' not found. A senatorial election was held on November 9, 1965 in the Philippines. The Nacionalista Party wrestled back control of the Senate; originally a Liberal, Senate President Ferdinand Marcos defected to the Nacionalistas, became their presidential candidate and won this year's election. The Nacionalistas also won 5 of the 8 seats contested in this year's Senate election to get the plurality (12) of the seats in the 24-member senate.
