Piet Borst
Piet Borst MD PhD (born 5 July 1934, Amsterdam) is a Dutch oncologist, biochemist and molecular biologist. From 1983 to 1999 he was director of the Netherlands Cancer Institute and the nl .
Borst has received many awards for his research, including the Paul Ehrlich and Ludwig Darmstaedter Prize (1984), the de (1989), the Leeuwenhoek Medal and Lecture (1989), the Robert Koch Prize (1992) and the Dr H.P. Heineken Prize for Biochemistry and Biophysics (1992). He has honorary doctorates from Leiden University and the University of Dundee. Borst is a member of the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences since 1978,[1] of the Royal Society since 1986,[2] of the Academia Europaea since 1989, and of the National Academy of Sciences since 1991.
